the thursday of the venture was, apparently, the coldest july day on record. so what did the overall leaders do? send everyone off on a high level walk will they did some "planning" over lunch in a broughton in furness hostelry..

the walkers were not put off by the cold and rain (well they were eventually but they made a brave attempt to stick it out)

the overall leaders were heard to complain that they had got quite wet on their walk down to the village.
